Why Birds?
Birds are more than fascinating creatures. Studying and protecting this underrepresented and neglected area of conservation and green chemistry teaches engineering thinking and creative problem-solving.
Through hands-on projects and challenges, you’ll think outside the box, and build skills that matter for any career while making a difference for our planet.
Our mission
Our mission
Bird2Branch was inspired by high school teacher Jeff Manker, who in 2013 launched a debut ornithology elective exploring flight, nests, field observations, and more. His class attracted students from science and non-science backgrounds, opening doors to careers they might never have considered—from engineering to biochemistry.
Unfortunately, these ornithology classes didn’t expand due to limited resources, so Bird2Branch was created to bring bird-focused STEM and creative learning to students worldwide, combining hands-on projects with educational outreach. We hope to grow further on behalf of the compelling world of birds.
